Lookout
Your friends, looking out for you.
Lookout is a night-out safety app for college-age women. It's a personal safety and wellness aid, built around the friends you go out with. The idea: your Apple Watch checks in with "Are you OK?", and if you can't answer in time, the friends you picked get your live location.
in build · TestFlight nextConcept cut from the design prototype. The real app is in build; a cut captured from it replaces this before TestFlight.
How a night out works
Plan it in 30 seconds
Pick who's out with you and when the night ends. Save your usual rules, so next time it's one tap.
Your friends are covered
They see where you are until the night ends. No one else does.
"Are you OK?"
Your watch buzzes and asks, with two big buttons: I'm OK, or Get help.
Your friends are told
If you tap Get help or can't answer in time, the friends you picked get a push or a text with your live location. They can answer "On my way," "Calling her," or "I'm with her."
It ends on its own
Sharing stops at the time you picked, when you get home, or whenever you tap End night.
What it never does
- It doesn't test for drugs, and it doesn't diagnose anything.
- It isn't a medical device or an emergency service. If you or a friend feel wrong, tell staff or call 911. Don't wait for the app.
- It doesn't share your location outside a night out, or with anyone you didn't pick.
- It doesn't sell your data, show ads, or carry trackers.
Privacy
Your raw health data stays on your phone. Your friends see your location only during a night out, only the friends you picked, and sharing always stops when the night ends. Nothing is sold or shared with third parties.
The full privacy policy comes with the TestFlight build.
Where it stands
Phase 1 is in build now: accounts, friends and circles, planning a night out, live location, the watch connection, a manual check-in, and test alerts. In this build the watch checks in on an hourly "still good?" tap or a test you send yourself. Every alert starts with "TEST:", and Lookout never calls 911 in this build. Nothing is detected yet; that comes later.
Next is TestFlight, for testers 18 and over.
